Creepy Howie...

This was one of the first investigations that the newly formed Vegas Valley Paranormal team had done. There were 4 of us that headed out to the notoriously haunted Sandy Valley Cemetery (at least that's what I was told.) So we decided to investigate it for our selfs. "Hey, you ready?" "Yup! Let's go!"
We loaded up and headed out. We arrived at 10:00 pm and got out of the car. We looked up into the crystal clear sky. It was a full moon and the milky way was in all its glory.
It was kinda chilly but we live for the hunt.
We set up our base table and got ready for our first sweeps of the grounds.
We weren't there three minutes and then Dez, the only female investigator yells " Hey Barrie, my batteries are dead on my camera and the k-2 meter!". I sat at the table changing my battery in the mel-meter that I just put a new 9v battery in before I left home.
I thought about it and said to my self "Boy this night is going to to be great!" I look up and there was a solid black shadow person walking 20 feet in front of where I sat.
Amazing! Not on location 10 minutes and battery drainage and shadow people.
I was frothing at the mouth to get started. I grabed my gear and start my rounds. I started to notice that most of the graves were military except for one that was odd. The name was covered with wood and glue.
So I stop and start an evp session. I sat the digital recorder on the rocks on the foot of the grave. 2 or 3 minutes go by and my lead P.I Scott walked up and we are doing our thing. I look at him and he looks back with the Holy crap! Look on his face.
We both just saw the recorder spin on the rock. So we reset it and few questions later, it turns again then nothing for 45 minutes or so. I found my self standing at this grave again. The batteries died in my recorder, so I said "that's a neat trick but can you really show me you are here." Not as soon as I said that, he let me know he was there!
"Ohh Shi..." something or some one just grabbed my leg and a few pulls from this entity and down I went all the way up to my upper right leg into the grave. My foot would have been where the person's rib cage would have been. I tried to pull my leg out of the hole. As I pulled, it pulled like a tug-o-war. It was trying to pull me down. Scott runs up with his recorder recording and said "who..who was it that attacked Barrie" then he helped me out of the hole.
I was to shaken up too much to continue. We wrapped it up and headed out for home. The next day Scott called me and said "your not going to believe this! I got a response when I asked who attacked you." All I could say was "really?"
Scott said "I'm going to email it now and when you listen to this, call me back".
I open the file, plug in my headphones, and then press the play button.........."Barrie you ok? Yes i am now!........who?..who attacked Barrie !?!?...." (evp) "It was creepy Howie..that crazy bitch is here".
The next day I was talking to the self-appointed "historian" of Good Springs & Sandy Valley, Nevada and I asked him about the grave. The story he told me I was shocking.
He said that the grave belonged to a man named Howard P or Creepy Howie, as the locals knew him. Well, Howard was a bad man. He was said to have done bad things to young girls. When he got caught, he did prison time, but then got out and did the same thing. He then shot himself. His name was covered to protect the grave. My jaw almost hit the ground. I told the historian nothing of what had happened that night, nor did I tell him of the Evp that was captured.
I know this seems like something you would see on a Hollywood horror flick. But it was way worse because this ain't Hollywood!

Until next time be well,
Barrie

Man's best freind...

This is a photo from one of our residential cases.
We where called in to do what we call a blind run. It is where we do not know anything about the claims of activity.
We get to the home and we get to work first with a sensitive walk thru to get any phychic impressions then we lay down our electronic net. We set up our IR cameras and voice recorders. Then we do a EMF sweep and saturation photos. after all the baseline readings are done we get to it.
I was sitting in the baby's room on a chair for about 15minutes when i hear a very loud growl like from a big dog i stop my EVP session and go back to see if i caught the growl on the recording with no luck.
So i just kept on working after about 20 more minutes nothing so i head out to another room and our photo tech we call "preacher" and our sensitive "liss" go into the baby's room and they start taking photo's and doing EVP work.
The photo's were taken with the light from a green flash light instead of the camera flash.
Liss says i feel something in here as she sticks her arm out and says" take one right here" so preacher snaps a few and they continue on.
Well after the photo review Preacher calls me and says "your not going to believe this" he sends me the picture and he was right i could not believe what i was seeing.
There it was a picture of a dog. It looked mean ears folded down teeth showing. Was this the dog that growled at me that night?
I was talking with the client to find out that they had a pitbull that got locked in the car the summer before and died from the heat. She also stated that the dog used to sleep in the baby's room where the photo was taken. she told this to me before i shared what we had captured.

Holy grail or epic fail?

This is the part of paranormal investigation that is hard to swallow and I have been investigating for shoot, I guess the better part of 16yrs. I have seen many strange things but this time this one is for the books.

The VVP team has investigated this Las Vegas restaurant called "Carluccio's Tivoli Gardens" 5 times and walked out of there like kids in a candy store. This place has to be one of the most haunted restaurant in America and owned by a true Las Vegas entertainer by the name of Liberace. We capture Tons of EVP's with a high percentage of Class A.

It never seems to fail to amaze me!

The story i will share with you is of a night that caught me off guard. The date was 10-10-10 it was our 3rd investigation and we geared up and got to work. First, EMF base line then saturation photos. I will explain what we call sat (saturation photos) photos. It is the time when we go through every room and take a number of photos from every angle in doubles or before and after.

Every one grabs a camera and picks a room and then "flash flash flash...." is all you hear from our team as we let loose. I just say lights out and before the light go out I start taking pictures.

There are still Carluccio's employees working and just finishing up from the nights' dinner rush. My team members are doing there thing and all the people are wearing black except my camera guy and he was wearing a white button up shirt.

Keeping these details in mind, this is where things get very strange very fast. The lights go out and I take 15-20 more pictures then I stop and look back through these photos cause I just saw a mist. Well the mist turned out to be white wash from the flash and the wall. So I was flipping through the rest of the photos I took and got back to the first photos when the lights where on and noticed the second photo that was taken had a guy in a pink shirt sitting at a table. I was shocked... This was hours after the place has closed and like I said, EVERYONE was in pure black except my camera guy. So after I fumbled over the camera for 20 minutes and scratched my head, I grabbed the camera guy and said sit there in the spot trying to recreate the shot. Well that was not even close to the same I said!!

I ran every option through my brain over and over. I asked the owner if he saw anyone in the restaurant that fit that description that night. He was just as baffled as my team and I were. None of us have ever seen anything like this. He looked solid as you and me until you get a close up then you notice the mortar between the bricks through him.

Well I was blown away. This was where I said "OK Barrie". What was that photo? Then the questions started. I was running it through the ringer because the saying goes "if it is to good to be true it probably is." I am a sceptic first then a believer, only after hard facts, and to be honest, I took the photo and I am still on the fence. I sent the photo to a few professors and had it validated that it was not a photo shop job or any type of funny business. I did everything I could do to to debunk the photo. At this point with the photo, I still won't label it paranormal nor will I say that it is fake.

So I would have to ask your opinion on this photo because I am stumped at this point. Please feel free to pass this blog on. I would love to have many opinions on this picture.

Because even I want to know if this is a Holy Grail or Epic Fail!!!!
